There are 4 ECC Levels in QR Code as follows:

• Level L - 7% of codewords can be restored
• Level M - 15% of codewords can be restored
• Level Q - 25% of codewords can be restored
• Level H - 30% of codewords can be restored

The ECC determines what percentage of QR codes, that the built in redundancy may be able to recover if there is missing data (ie code is damaged).
